Mary Jo Gourd believes in the eclectic interior, incorporating antiques with contemporary pieces, marrying the old and the new, to create an experience unique for each client. Color (whether calm earthy tones, or vibrant energizing hues) is the common thread that unites each room in a home or hospitality project. Mary Jo is a compassionate listener who enjoys collaborating with and creating ‘win-win’ projects with her clients, whether they be an individual with very clear goals, or couples and families who arrive with disparate desires and styles.
Mary Jo’s passion for interiors began many years ago when she purchased a stately (but tired) bed & breakfast inn located in Vermont. This large scale opportunity to experiment with window treatments, bedding, wall coverings, and furniture to create beautiful, yet comfortable and inviting interiors, set her on a path she has delighted in ever since. After the sale of the inn, Mary Jo created the interior design division of her husband’s architectural firm. Together they have successfully bought, renovated and sold several residential and commercial properties.
